Petit Bastone Cabinet

Petit Bastone creates a natural continuum to the Bastone Collection, designed by the award-winning master cabinet maker and designer Antrei Hartikainen. Petit Bastone is a smaller sized option to its preceding pieces of furniture: The Bastone Cabinet and Bastone Sideboard.

The concept of this collection derives from the dilemma between ornament and structure – the wooden dowel rods are an integral part of the structure while also creating an ornamental effect on the exterior. The exteriors of both the cabinet and the sideboard are partly open and partly covered by long and narrow wooden dowel rods. As light enters through the openings, the interior is revealed while remaining slightly concealed.
